Lenapehoking Youth Arts Initiative
June 22 - July 31, 2026
Lower Art Gallery
A collaboration with the Lenapehoking Indigenous Youth Program, the Building Blocks Youth Arts Program, and the 国产传媒 Art Gallery and Visual
Arts Program. This project provides an opportunity for the youth to work with photography, printmaking, and storytelling as a catalyst for group discussions centered around issues of social
justice in Indigenous histories and contemporary cultural narratives. The resulting artworks will
be displayed in the art gallery and become a backdrop for additional group discussions and events open to the public.
Magda Watts: A Handmade Story of Resilience
June 15 - July 27, 2026
Upper Art Gallery
Magda Watts, who had survived the Holocaust from 1944 through 1945, created dolls
during her time enslaved that had been traded for items that aided in her survival.
Forty years after liberation, Watts began to use her experiences as an influence to
create once more, preserving Jewish history and honoring loved ones. Her dolls are
mixed media creations out of everyday materials, allowing her to cope with the pain
she had felt while emerging from deep within memories, to bring parts of the Jewish
community to light, so that they will never be forgotten.
