Gerontology Internship (GERO 3900) Requirements
- Must be a junior or senior
- Must have completed three (3) GERO courses*
*Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Gerontology Internship (GERO 3900) is a course in which students volunteer at a placement site in the community for at least 140 hours throughout the semester. In exchange, they gain valuable experience participating in the activities of the agency or institution and learning from professionals working in the field. Internship students work with patients or clients of the organization and learn about how those agencies and institutions function and fit into the larger community.
Internships are available Fall, Spring and Summer and may be completed along with a hybrid class component or as independent studies.
